Ellwood Thompson's is one of my favorite places to go for good premium food. They have lots of vegan options and exotic meats like Elk and Emu!! Their produce section is also well stocked with vegetables and fruits that you don't commonly find at other grocery stores. All of these premium health concise products come at a premium price so keep that in mind when prepping for your visit. This location has a large private parking lot which is nice. Check them out.
I haven't been here in a few months, and some subtle changes have been made, but it's still a good vibe in here. Elwood definitely needs a second location, preferably in Chesterfield.
The product offerings was top notch and the store offer a lot of unique finds. I was passing through while traveling. There aren't any locations in my area of the suburbs of Washington, DC. I would love to see the store expand to my area...there is a market for your type of store!

This is Richmond's local Whole Foods. I love Ellwood Thompson's. I don't normally do my grocery shopping here because it's a bit pricey, but if you want some incredible local and natural goods with farmers market feels, this is a wonderful place for you. On my recent visit, I came to buy some organic and natural wines for incredible prices. They have a section with these wines that are under $15. I was amazed to find one of my favorite bottle's of wine for half the price I normally pay for it. The people that work here are incredible. I appreciate that employees can wear buttons with their pronouns. They do have a single stall bathroom too. I highly recommend checking out Ellwood Thompson's for affordable natural and organic wines.
Heaven in a grocery store. Absolutely wonderful diverse and healthy food selection that feels so grass roots and cozy.
I love going down there to Ellwood and Thompson. I love the atmosphere. All of the cashiers are so friendly. I love the food down there hot food, cold food. The chicken is so good I love the curry salad wrap with the apples, raisins, celery I don't really like the peanuts in it but that's OK still the best and they're cake desserts made without flour is very nice. I also like their chocolate cake, which is no other chocolate cake in the world like it because it is like a fudge chocolate cake so good. And they're onions is the size of a small basketball everything...... little expensive but well worth it.
